Universidad San Simón vs Leones de Potosí will take place in the Bolivia Libobasquet on September 2, i.e Saturday. The first final of the Bolivian Basketball League (Libobásquet) was won by Pichincha, beating Calero with a score of 78-72 on Thursday night in the match between teams from Potosí, played at the Ciudad de Potosí Coliseum. With Hunter Moise Preston as the figure, Pichincha emerged victorious from this first match corresponding to the Libobasket final, an instance that is played for the best of five games in Potosí, known as the Capital of Bolivian basketball, due to the hegemony of the clubs in tournaments controlled by the Bolivian Basketball Federation (FBB).
In a relentless match and with a stage full of fans, El Toro prevailed with a 78-72 with the following partials (20-20, 16-22, 24-14, and 18-16). The red machine led by coach Giovanny Vargas took control of the match thanks to the effectiveness of Preston, author of 23 points, escorted by Adriano Barreras with 18. Calero’s “owls” had problems in defense to stop their opponents, in the middle of the tight game, Rodrigo Acuña and Sebastián Morales made an effort to put their team on the scoreboard, but without the forcefulness that led them to this final.

The second final will be played this Saturday, from 8:00 p.m., on the same stage. The third commitment is scheduled for Thursday, September 1 (8:00 p.m.). If a fourth match is necessary, it will be played on Saturday, September 3, and the fifth on Monday, September 5. The champion will win the right to represent Bolivia in the South American Club League. Leones (Potosí) and Universidad San Simón (Cochabamba), semifinalists of this edition of Libobasket, will play -also the best of five games- for third place in an unprecedented way. Their commitments are scheduled one day after the finals in the Valluna capital due to the lack of availability of stages in the Imperial Villa.
