Shenzhen will go against Xinjiang in the CBA China match on October 13 at China. The 2022-2023 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season’s second day was marked by surprises and clutch shots, as the Nanjing Monkey Kings edged the Tianjin Pioneers 90-88 on Tuesday and the Xinjiang Flying Tigers upset championship challenger Shanghai Sharks 118-100. Wang Zhelin, the captain of Shanghai, scored seven points, while Zhu Xuhang, a recent addition from the Zhejiang Golden Bulls, put Xinjiang on the offensive early on by scoring 11 points in the first quarter. Tacko Fall, a replacement center for Xinjiang who is 2.28 meters tall, then scored three baskets in a succession, and Xinjiang rode a 14-3 to end the first quarter 35-18.

To decrease the deficit to seven points at halftime, Shanghai outscored Xinjiang 34-24 in the second quarter. Former MVP Ding Yanyuhang led the charge by attempting the basket on consecutive times. After the break, Shanghai kept up its comeback efforts, and the difference was only one point. After two consecutive field goals by Lutpulla, Xinjiang responded with a 6-0 scoring run to regain their composure and prevented the opponents’ fourth-quarter comeback with strong defense.

Wang delivered 19 points and 14 rebounds for Shanghai, moving him up to 17th place among all-time scorers in the CBA. Three talented young players worked together brilliantly to give Nanjing, who had placed last in the standings the previous season, its first triumph. Wu Tingjia, a sophomore, drove to the hoop with eight seconds remaining in the game and then passed the ball to Lin Wei, who converted a buzzer-beating bank shot in his first CBA game. Wang Lanqin, the overall No. 1 choice in the 2022 Draft, got a crucial steal at that point.
