Serbia vs Netherlands will take place at Prague Arena for a EuroBasket 2022 Group D match on September 2. In preparation for its elimination round matchups against Montenegro, Georgia, Spain, Bulgaria, and Belgium at the 2022 European Basketball Championship (FIBA EuroBasket 2022), Turkey is hungry for big victories. Group matches are slated to take place in Georgia’s Tbilisi Arena from September 1–7. Ergin Ataman’s Türkiye team has had bad results in their most recent games. At the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers, the squad suffered consecutive losses to Latvia (111-85) on the road and Serbia (79-72) at home. Türkiye, a nation that has never won the Euros and has only once advanced to the EuroBasket final (in 2001), will compete without Miami Heat star Omer Yurtseven.
The Turkish squad is hoping to break their losing streak with the golden generation in Georgia by finding success. NBA talents Furkan Korkmaz of the Philadelphia 76ers, Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets, and Cedi Osman of the Cleveland Cavaliers will play alongside each other on the 12-man team. Superstar EuroLeague player Shane Larkin is another important member of the Turkish team’s lineup (Anadolu Efes). Turkey will play in the event in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, where they will face Montenegro, Bulgaria, Georgia, Belgium, and Spain in the opening round. The top four teams from each group advance to the Berlin semifinals.
