Serbia will take on Lithuania in the FIBA U-20 Women’s European Championship on July 12. When Hungary earned its first victory in the FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship on the second day of play, there was a mixture of relief and celebration. Reka Dombai scored 29 points as they defeated the Netherlands convincingly, 81-40, after losing to the Czech Republic in the opening game on Friday. After defeating Hungary on day one, the Czech Republic maintained its perfect record by defeating France 59-54 while their defense stifled their opponents. The star performer was Julia Vydrova, who had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Sweden defeated Belgium 81-61 in Group B thanks in large part to Matilda Ekh’s outstanding 19 points and 11 rebounds, who demonstrated her senior squad experience.
Italy, meanwhile, appears to be the side to beat in the pool as they defeated Finland 67-38 after scoring the game’s opening 16 points. Caterina Gilli contributed 10 points in the victory. Spain and Poland both have a perfect record in Group C, with Spain putting on another impressive performance to defeat Bulgaria by a score of 98-27.
