The Sabios de Manizales will take on Cimarrones del Choco in the LBP Colombia match on September 28. The Basketball League in Colombia returns to the ring this second semester with a season that will feature the participation of 10 teams from September 17 to November 23, in case there is a fifth game in the final playoff. The tournament will be played in Local-Visitor mode, with the presence of fans in all the country’s coliseums, in order to massify basketball in each of the cities where it is played.
The ten (10) teams that will participate in the 2022-2 season are Búcaros de Bucaramanga, Caribbean Storm de San Andrés Islas, Cimarrones del Chocó, Cóndores de Cundinamarca, Corsarios de Cartagena, Piratas de Bogotá, Sabios de Manizales, Team Cali, Tigrillos de Medellín, and Titanes de Barranquilla, the current six-time champion of the League. This event will be played in the first phase which will have two rounds. In the first round, the home team will face the visitor twice, while in the second round, the home team would have to travel to visit the club they faced to play two more games.

The first four of each group will advance to the quarterfinals facing each other as follows: 1A vs 4B (Bracket 1), 2A vs 3B (Bracket 3), 1B vs 4A (Bracket 2), and 2B vs 3A (Bracket 4). These brackets define the semi-finalist as the winner of two out of three matches (2/3). The winners of the keys will advance to the semifinal playoffs where they will face the grand final of the Professional Basketball League for a place playing the winner of three (3) of five (5) games. In those semifinals, the crosses will be the Winner of key 2 vs key 3 and the winner of key 1 vs the winner of key 4. In addition, the local teams must have the presence of a u23 player and a u21 player on the game sheet. This tournament will not be a bubble, so the public from all over the country will be able to attend the coliseums of their cities and thus enjoy professional basketball in Colombia.
