Lithuania vs Austria will take place at Graz, Austria for FIBA Europe Cup match on September 9. Tomorrow in Graz, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3×3 Europe Cup will begin, and defending champions Serbia for men and Spain for women will compete. As the defending Olympic bronze medalists, Serbia is the favorite and seeking to capture a fourth straight men’s gold medal. Slovenia, the 2016 winners, and Israel make up Pool A, while the 2021 runners-up, Lithuania, are in Pool B alongside the hosts, Austria, and Hungary. The 2017 champions, Latvia, are in Pool C together with Poland and Montenegro. In Pool D, the remaining teams are Belgium, The Netherlands, and Azerbaijan. The Olympic champions’ chances of winning the gold medal may increase with Karlis Lasmanis’ return to the Latvian squad.
In Pool B of the women’s competition, with Romania and Switzerland, is the defending champion France. While the incumbent champions Spain are in Pool C with The Netherlands and Portugal, top-seeded Germany, Austria, and Estonia are in Pool A. In Pool D are the up-and-comers Cyprus, Lithuania, and Poland. The top two teams from each pool will advance to Kasematten Schlossberg’s quarterfinals. The three-day event will conclude on September 11th, Sunday.
