The LA Lakers will head to the Thomas & Mack Center for an NBA Summer League game against the LA Clippers on Tuesday, July 12. It is certainly going to be interesting to watch the two inter-city rivals face off against each other.
The Purple and Gold come into the encounter on the back of a double-overtime loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Cole Swider led the scorers as he racked up 21 points on 60% shooting from the field. The young sensation nailed down five three-pointers during the game. Another player that had a good game was Mason Jones, who scored 13 points off the bench for the Purple and Gold. Scotty Pippen Jr. continued impressing the NBA community with his brilliance. The guard scored 10 points and also contributed with 7 assists and 3 steals. Despite all of their best efforts, the Hornets went on to score a game-winning three-pointer on the last possession to take an 89-86 win on the night.
Meanwhile, the Clippers are high on confidence after their stellar 94-76 win against the Memphis Grizzlies. R Perry scored 17 points off the bench for the Clippers. Brandon Boston Jr., who played for the Clippers last season also had a brilliant game where he scored 15 points in 21:50 minutes. The likes of Jay Scrubb, M. Diabate and J Brantley also contributed with 11,10 and 13 points respectively and in the end, it helped the Clippers bag a dominant win.
There are no significant injuries to players from both teams heading into this game. This means that both coaches can use all their available players for selection.
