The Hapoel Tel-Aviv will go against London Lions in the Eurocup match on October 11 at Drive in Arena (Tel-Aviv).To earn their second victory of the year, the London Lions had to battle a tenacious Caledonia Gladiators team who came dangerously close to defeating them. Despite not having most of the game under control, the Londoners prevailed thanks in large part to their top scorer Sam Dekker. The Scots got out to the best start of the two teams and led the offensive play throughout the whole game. David Sloan scored eight points in four minutes after making two 3-pointers and two 2-pointers in the game’s first two minutes.
Throughout the first quarter, Caledonia maintained control. They were able to capitalize on their opportunities and led by as much as seven points (19-26) with a few seconds remaining. With only 0.5 seconds remaining on the clock, the Lions had the ball beneath the basket of the Gladiators, but Tomislav Zubcic was able to make what was perhaps the game’s best shot. The Croatian made a buzzer-beating 3-pointer after receiving the inbound ball to conclude the period 22-26.

Despite London’s best attempts, the Scots took control of the game to open the second quarter just as they did the first. Sloan, who was the first player to reach double figures, and Caledonia were both able to score easy baskets because of fast breaks. The Scots managed to take a nine-point lead at the halfway point of the quarter, which was their biggest advantage of the game (32-41). Kosta Koufos stepped up at that time, scoring five points straight to help his side cut the deficit to just two points (39-41).
