In the 14th round of the 2022-23 China Basketball Association (CBA), two teams from southern China’s Guangdong Province celebrated their victory as the Guangdong Southern Tigers defeated the Jilin Northeast Tigers 117-91. Lost at 68. on Friday. Guangdong set the tone early in the game, going 36-19 in the first quarter. Forward Yi Jianlian scored ten points within six minutes of the point. Jiang Weize and Jiang Yuxing tried to close the gap on Jilin by three points, but he was still behind by 63:44 at half-time. Jilin went on to win 20–19 in the third quarter, dismissing the team’s top scorer Dominic Jones in his third of the final. Guangdong never looked back after that.
Jiang Weize led Jilin with 26 points, Kong Degao and Jiang Yuxing both contributed with 20, Jones had a double-double with 14 points and he had 15 rebounds. Marshon Brooks scored his game-high 32 points in Guangdong. The match between Guangzhou and Ningbo was also one-sided with a score of 20-4 in the 6th minute of the first half. Jeremy Lin extended Guangzhou’s lead to 52–32 at the end of the first half on his debut night of the second period of the season.
