The Guaiqueries will take on the Cocodrilos in Superliga Semifinals on October 12 at Gimnasio Ciudad de La Asuncion (La Asuncion). Cocodrillos de Caracas defeated Guaicherry de Margarita 81-79 in overtime in the Eastern Conference Finals of the Pro Basketball Super League in a thrilling match at United Nations Park. Gelvis Solano, Pedro Chourio, Luis Montero, Juan Guerrero and Rakeem Christmas started with his Crocodiles. Guaikery swooped onto the pitch alongside Heisler Guillon, Gendry Correa, Dominic Sutton, Jose Ascanio, and Francisco Centeno. Guaiqueríes dominated most of the game, taking advantage of their rivals’ mistakes and making a good contribution from their second unit. The away team entered the break with a 45-to-32 lead, with Anthony Young topping the numbers with his 14 points. Early in the third quarter, Guaicherry held the biggest advantage of the game (47-32), but the Saurians got back into the game 8-0.
The Christmas Crocodiles played well to bring the third quarter four points closer to his down (53-57). He continued until Montero’s double to tie the action on his 64, drawing five, despite a try by local Guaicherry. 20 minutes left until the end of the 4th period. Defensive intensity was the star of the show on both sides of the field, and two minutes passed with no markers moved until José Ascanio emerged with a three that calmed the Islanders down. Just when the guests looked like they were going to win, Luis Bethelmy clinched his 3-pointer over the mark and made a basket to level the game at 67 and force extra time. For the first time in a game with Crocodile leading, it goes overtime. They finished the match with an inspired Pedro Chorio.

Pedro Chorio scored his 10 points, including his 3-pointers on his two back-to-back offenses during that time. Also included is a key steal from Solano that ended with a Dominican dunk. 14-12 became part of overtime and in the final, he was 81-79 in favor of the House. Pedro Chullio led the win with 23 points (10 in overtime), two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Gerbis Solano had 15 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Luis Montero had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists, while Rakeem Christmas had 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. Anthony Young led Guaicherry with his 22 points and eight rebounds, followed by Francisco Centeno with his 10 points and four rebounds.
