The FVB wants to accomplish the “massification” of the sport in the women’s branch and inspire current clubs, particularly those in the Men’s Super League, to create their own women’s teams.
The first season of the Women’s Super League will feature a double-round robin format for the regular round. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, which will be a best-of-three series (1st vs. 4th; 2nd vs. 3rd). The championship game will be contested in the same manner, with a best-of-three-games series. The 33 Women’s Super League, which will grant points to the FIBA global ranking, will also be played concurrently within the framework of the development of the Women’s Super League. Two choices may be registered by each group.
