The Dallas Wings will head to the Wintrust Arena for their WNBA matchup against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday, August 2nd. Both these teams are coming off stellar wins in their previous encounters.
The Wings were up against an Atlanta Dream side on Sunday. They were dominant from tip-off and marched their way to a comfortable 81-68 win on the night. Kayla Thornton and Arike Ogunbowale added 21 points each for the Wings. Teaira McCowan also had an impactful game as she scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the 35 minutes that she played. This win helped the Wings get to the sixth position on the table. However, if they are to continue staying in playoff contention, the team from Dallas will have to keep playing high-octane basketball.
Meanwhile, their opponents for Tuesday are a Chicago Sky team, that squeezed their way past the Connecticut Sun on Sunday to grab a 95-92 overtime win on Sunday. Once again it was Kahleah Copper that led the way for them as she scored 27 points and grabbed 5 rebounds on the night. Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley also added 16 and 13 points respectively to make things easier for the defending champions. Playing without Candace Parker, the team had a few defensive setbacks, but they kept their composure and walked out with a win.
The Dallas Wings’ Arike Ogunbowale is reported to be doubtful ahead of this game. Satou Sabally has once again been ruled out as she continues her recovery from an ankle injury. As far as the Sky are concerned, Candace Parker is the only player that is doubtful for them when they take the court on Tuesday.
