Club Deportivo Calero vs Club Pichincha de Potosí will go head to head in the Bolivia Libobasquet on September 2, i.e Friday. Pichincha defeated Calero 78-72 in the first Bolivian Basketball League (Libobásquet) championship game on Thursday night between teams from Potos at the Ciudad de Potos Coliseum. Due to the dominance of the clubs in competitions overseen by the Bolivian Basketball Federation, Pichincha, with Hunter Moise Preston as the figure, won this opening game corresponding to the Libobasket final. This event is played for the best of five games in Potos, known as the capital of Bolivian basketball (FBB). El Toro won with a score of 78-72 after a grueling contest with a packed audience onstage (20-20, 16-22, 24-14 and 18-16).
Preston’s 23 points and Adriano Barreras’ 18 points helped the red machine under coach Giovanny Vargas gain control of the game. Preston also had a strong supporting cast of 18. In the middle of the close game, Rodrigo Acua and Sebastián Morales attempted to put their team on the scoreboard, but without the ferocity that propelled them to this final. Calero’s “owls” struggled to stop their opponents on defense. This Saturday at 8:00 p.m. on the same stage, the second final will take place. Thursday, September 1 is the scheduled day for the third commitment (8:00 p.m.). On Saturday, September 3, if a fourth game is required, it will be played. On Monday, September 5, if a fifth game is required.
