On September 21 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City, the PBA’s Season 47 Commissioner’s Cup will tip off with the match up of Blackwater Bossing vs Bay Area Dragons. Former NBA player Andrew Nicholson will bolster the Dragons. They are primarily Chinese players, led by Liu Chuanxing, who stands 7 feet 5 inches tall. Bay Area is the early favorite to win the tournament after going undefeated in a series of tune-up games against PBA ball clubs and collegiate teams. A match between the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters and NorthPort Batang Pier concludes the opening day’s doubleheader.

Yeng Guiao, the head coach of Rain or Shine, will take against NLEX Road Warriors on September 23 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. On the same day, Aldin Ayo will lead the Converge FiberXers against the Terrafirma Dyip in his PBA coaching debut. The games will also take staged at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City and the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City in addition to the MOA Arena and PhilSports Arena.
