Australia vs Trinidad & Tobago: Commonwealth Games, Basketball 3×3 will be held on July 30. The whole tournament schedule for the Basketball 3×3 and Wheelchair Basketball 3×3 events has been made public by Birmingham 2022. Six men’s teams and six women’s teams will compete in the first Wheelchair Basketball 3×3 tournament at the Commonwealth Games, whilst eight men’s teams and eight women’s teams will compete in the running version of the sport. On Friday, July 29, the Canadian men’s team will play Kenya in the first group match. The women’s tournament will thereafter have Australia and Scotland as competitors. In the first round of the wheelchair basketball 3×3 tournament, the men’s team will play South Africa, and the women’s team will take on Kenya.
The second session of the day included a men’s game against Canada, a women’s game against Sri Lanka, and a wheelchair team matchup against Australia. The men’s wheelchair basketball 3×3 team will play Malaysia, and the men’s and women’s running basketball teams will compete against New Zealand in the opening session of day two. The Australian team will have a full day on day three since both wheelchair teams will compete in the evening session, which will be followed by the men’s running team and England’s last group match.

After the group matches are finished on Sunday, July 31, the quarterfinals and semifinals will be played. On Tuesday, August 2, the classification and bronze medal matches will be played in the afternoon session, while the gold medal matches will be played in the evening session. “We are pleased to be partnering with Commonwealth Sport and Birmingham 2022 to present the 3X3 Competition at the future Commonwealth Games,” stated the president of International Wheelchair Basketball. The Commonwealth movement has played a significant role in the growth and degree of participation of wheelchair basketball. It has also strengthened our relationship with FIBA, and the program is anticipated to feature some spectacular performances.
