Argentina vs Colombia FIBA South American Championship Women’s match will be held on August 5. Stephanie Soares, a forward at Iowa State who is 6 feet 6 inches tall, has been chosen for the Brazil Women’s Basketball National Team, the Brazil Basketball Confederation said on Saturday. From August 1 to 6 in Argentina, Soares and Brazil will compete in the FIBA South American Women’s Championship. Soares was a member of the squad that competed in FIBA World Cup Qualifying in February, making this her fourth invitation to the Senior National Team. She has also competed for Brazil at the 2018 South American Women’s Championship and the 2019 Olympic Pre-Qualifying Americas Tournament.
After three seasons of competition for The Master’s University, an NAIA institution in Santa Clarita, California, Soares transferred to Iowa State. She won the NAIA Player of the Year award twice and was a three-time first-team All-American. Her team finished the 2021–22 season with a 32-4 record and advanced to the NAIA Championship quarterfinals because to her 20.5 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game average. Over the course of the six days of the competition, Brazil will play five games, beginning on Monday at 4:30 p.m. against Colombia in the group round. Following that, they play Uruguay on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and Chile on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

The top two teams in each group will win tickets to the championship bracket and the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup in 2023, while the other four teams will compete for fifth and seventh in a consolation tournament.
