Panama will take on Brazil in the World Baseball Classic match on October 4 at Estadio Nacional de Panamá (Panama City). Panama City qualifiers are underway at the Estadio Nacional Rod Carew in Panama. The top two teams in this group will compete alongside the Czech Republic and Great Britain as qualifiers for next year’s World Baseball Classic. Host nation Panama swept Argentina in the World Baseball Classic Qualifier, bringing him one step closer to qualifying for the WBC in 2023. Eight of nine Panamanian starting pitchers had hits, and five had at least one RBI for him. Midfielder Jose Ramos scored the biggest goal of the night in the third game, hitting a two-barrel homer to make it 3-0. The Dodgers prospects were him 2-3. Former Padres shortstop Allen Cordova finished third from the team’s best starting position. Another MLB veteran second baseman Rubén Tejada followed with two RBIs of his own. Two hits each.

Humberto, who has spent the last two seasons with his D-backs in his system, started the game with his Mejia, and in four innings he struck out five and allowed him two hits. Randall Delgado, Matt Hardy, and Alberto Guerrero ended the game with three unsuccessful innings of relief. Panama will play Brazil on Tuesday. The winner of that match will earn him one of his two seed slots at WBC 2023. Despite two delays, Brazil kept its composure and defeated Nicaragua in its second WBC qualifier the team. A’s midfield contender Gabriel Maciel set the tone at the top of the Brazilian lineup and in the steps, he went 2 for 4 and hit a run with a double in sixth. Former Rays and Twins minor league third baseman Leonardo Reginat was also a catalyst for Brazil, scoring in all four at-bats and driving in two. Left fielder Tim Lopez, who spent part of three seasons with the Rockies and Brewers, also had multiple hits and went 2-for-4. On the mound, Felipe Sales allowed three hits and knocked out six in 4 1/3 innings. The two teams had to wait for the rain to stop, and in the sixth inning, lighting problems occurred at Estadio Nacional Rod Carew, which lasted for about 10 minutes.
