Mark William Calaway also known by his ring name The Undertaker is a now retired American Pro wrestler. He is considered by many to be the greatest professional wrestler of all time. He is widely known for his career in the WWE and has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Undertaker made his debut in the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 1990 and swiftly became a force to be reckoned with. He made his debut in the survivor series where he defeated Koko B. Ware just one minute after the start of the match.
One of The Undertaker’s most enduring legacies is his undefeated streak at WrestleMania. From WrestleMania VII in 1991 to WrestleMania XXX in 2014, he remained undefeated at the event with a record of 21-0. This remarkable feat solidified The Undertaker’s place in wrestling history and created an aura of invincibility around him.
Standing at an imposing 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 m) and weighing approximately 309 pounds, The Undertaker’s physical presence is nothing short of intimidating. His towering height, combined with his eerie demeanor and trademark black attire, earned him the moniker “The Deadman.” With his haunting entrance theme, “Funeral March,” and his mesmerizing slow walk to the ring, The Undertaker instantly commanded attention and struck fear into the hearts of his opponents.
Calaway earned his moniker, “The Undertaker,” due to his eerie, funeral-like persona and the character he portrayed in the wrestling world. Over the years, The Undertaker’s character evolved, but the name and the connection to death and the funeral industry remained constant.
