Unlike other concerts that usually have multiple stands, WWE typically has only one stand, making it a definite concern.
When the upcoming All In event takes place at Wembley Stadium in London, England next month. It will mark a pivotal moment in the four-year history of All Elite Wrestling. Notably, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer discussed a pressing concern that could greatly impact their success during this highly anticipated event on the “McGuire on Wrestling” podcast.
According to Meltzer, in every show, a common complaint is the lengthy lines and limited selection at merchandise stands. Unlike other concerts that usually have multiple stands, WWE typically has only one stand, making it a definite concern. The writer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter then proceeded to outline his expectations for the company’s performance at All In.
They should aim to achieve a merchandise sales revenue of at least $2.15 million or more, but it is doubtful if they will accomplish this feat due to the lack of sufficient stands and a limited selection. The conversation surrounding this matter would seem absurd.
The wrestling journalist observed that when WWE held SummerSlam at Wembley Stadium 30 years ago, they generated around $1.15 million in merchandise sales. According to Meltzer, it is expected for AEW to ideally surpass $3.5 million considering inflation. However, if the company’s merchandise sales fall short, they risk losing out on millions of dollars.
AEW faces another challenge in getting goods to London. The clothing for AEW is produced in collaboration with ProWrestlingTees, a business based in Chicago, Illinois. It remains uncertain whether they will find a partner in London for merchandise production or opt to ship their stock from the US for sale there.
