After Matt and Nick Jackson announced their return to the AEW tag team division on “AEW Rampage,” Matt and Jeff Hardy wasted no time in issuing a challenge for a highly anticipated match.
The Young Bucks accepted, setting the stage for an epic showdown between these talented teams, marking. Their first encounter since AEW Double or Nothing 2022.
Tonight’s broadcast features two exciting title matches, including Hikaru Shida defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against Anna Jay. In last week’s event, Toni Storm, who performed to The Outcasts’ song “Dynamite,” faced a defeat against Shida. In Jack Perry’s upcoming match, he will be defending the FTW Championship against Rob Van Dam, who will be making his debut in AEW.
Last Wednesday, RVD joined AEW to build up anticipation for the title match. The match was set up by retired wrestler Jerry Lynn and is part of the ongoing feud between Lynn and Perry.
In another match, the Lucha Bros will be competing against Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli of the Blackpool Combat Club. On “Rampage” last week, Rey Fénix and Penta El Zero Miedo expressed their desire to face the winner of the Parking Lot Fight between Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta and Moxley and Castagnoli. Ultimately, it was the members of BCC who emerged to secure this evening’s contest.
The Jericho Appreciation Society has organized a mandatory meeting to discuss the future of Chris Jericho. There are indications that Jericho is considering collaborating with Don Callis in future endeavors. Additionally, both MJF and Adam Cole, the current AEW World Champions, will make an appearance. Despite recently forming an alliance, they will compete against each other for AEW’s prestigious title at AEW All In on August 27th.
