When Glover Texeira relocated to Connecticut in 1999 to help support his family, he met his wife, Ingrid Peterson. At a gym, the two people first met. The couple fell in love and was married in 2001, two years after starting to date. Their relationship faced a test at that point. Since the UFC acquired the WEC, the organization Teixeira was then a part of, and since the visa requirements were tightened (as a result of the 9/11 attacks), Teixeira had entered the US illegally.

Teixeira had no choice but to return to Brazil and deal with the visa problems. Following were four trying years. Teixeira and Peterson hardly ever interacted despite being married. The problem gradually ended once Texeira made significant strides in the MMA world. In 2011, a green card was awarded to him. All of Peterson’s difficulties had to be endured.

Peterson currently oversees the boxing business owned by her husband. Other than the fact that Ingrid Peterson has a sister by the name of Anna Peterson, nothing little is known about her early life.

Glover Teixeira – UFC Light Heavyweight Championship

Teixeira was scheduled to compete against Jan Bachowicz for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 266 on September 25, 2021. The fight, however, was postponed and rescheduled for UFC 267 on October 30, 2021. Teixeira won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship by way of a rear naked choke in the second round. With this victory, he became the 42-year-old first-time champion in UFC history and was also given the Performance of the Night trophy.

Jiri Procházka was the opponent for Teixeira’s championship defense at UFC 274 on May 7, 2022. The fight, however, was canceled on June 11 at UFC 275 for an unspecified reason. Teixeira engaged in a back-and-forth struggle before being submitted in the fifth round with a rear-naked choke. He won the Fight of the Night prize for this battle.

Teixeira competed against Jamahal Hill for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 283 on January 21, 2023, as a result of the belt remaining vacant due to a draw. Following the fight, he would declare his retirement after losing the fight by decision.
