Nate Diaz has been slapped back at by Justin Gaethje after the ‘Stockton Slugger’ joked about being put to sleep by a triangle choke from mount. In the main event of next weekend’s pay-per-view event in Phoenix, Gaethje (23-3 MMA) will face defending UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira (32-8 MMA). Before the fight, ‘The Highlight’ talked to Megan Olivi and implied that ‘Do Bronx’ would have to go through many hardships like Khabib had to go through.

“[Charles Oliveira] is gonna have to walk through hell like Khabib did. He better be praying every day that he gets me to the ground.”

Nate Diaz on Gaethje

Gaethje, of course, fought Nurmagomedov for the undisputed lightweight championship at UFC 254, when he was defeated by ‘The Eagle’ with a triangle choke. Given the outcome of that bout, Nate Diaz expressed his displeasure with Gaethje’s analogy on Instagram, writing the following.

“Bruh got triangle choked from mount. What he talkin bout.”

Nate Diaz’s words evidently irritated Justin Gaethje, who responded by calling Diaz a “jealous bitch.”

“I ain’t your bruh you jealous bitch @NateDiaz209“

Diaz haven’t competed since UFC 263

Diaz (20-13 MMA) hasn’t fought since UFC 263, when he lost a welterweight fight against Leon Edwards via unanimous decision. The Stockton native nearly knocked out the British fighter in round five of that battle, but was defeated after being brutally outpointed in the opening four rounds. Nate Diaz has already set his eyes on former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. Despite the fact that both guys have professed a desire in the fight, Dana White and his team have yet to bring it together. Meanwhile, Justin Gaethje will get a second chance to become the undisputed UFC champion on Saturday night.
