Conor McGregor has been out of action ever since his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier. He suffered a nasty leg injury in the fight which has forced him to stay out of the octagon for over a year now. However, McGregor is determined to make a return to the octagon and has even revealed his future plans recently.

During a recent live session on his social media, ‘The Notorious One’ was asked about his plans of returning to the octagon. To which he replied by suggesting he is looking to come back in the first quarter of 2023. He said: “I’m gonna be back soon hopefully. Early 2023 I’m aiming for. You know, sometime in that first quarter. That’ll give me a good couple of months. Once I wrap this in a couple of days, get this camp going, good couple of months and get going.”

It is worth noting that currently, Conor McGregor is working on a movie. As mentioned by him, the movie shall wrap up in a few days and then the former UFC champion will focus on returning to the octagon.

Will Conor McGregor fight for the title upon his return?

Despite having a run of form that needs to be forgotten, Conor McGregor remains to be one of the biggest combat sports stars around the world. And this comes with a lot of privileges. His ability to bring eyeballs puts him in a position where he can call his shots.

Because of the same reason, there have been a lot of speculation surrounding him returning to fight directly for the title. While it might seem unfair because of his recent run of form, it will definitely be good for business.

It is worth noting that nothing is certain at the moment and it will be interesting to see who Conor McGregor fights upon his return.
