Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to lack enthusiasm for the role of coaching Elon Musk in a prospective fight against Mark Zuckerberg. The Tesla CEO reportedly sought the assistance of ‘The Eagle’ for training in a potential matchup against the Facebook founder. Nevertheless, Nurmagomedov has allegedly turned down the invitation.

Back in June, Musk ignited a whirlwind on social media by throwing down the gauntlet to Zuckerberg for a cage fight. This unexpected challenge closely followed the revelation of the Meta CEO’s Twitter alternative, Threads. The mere hint of a potential showdown between these tech titans has significantly captured the attention of MMA enthusiasts worldwide.

Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t interested in Zuck vs Musk

As they gear up for a possible face-off, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have undergone training sessions led by respected MMA personalities, including Georges St-Pierre, Israel Adesanya, and Alexander Volkanovski. Nonetheless, Khabib Nurmagomedov has conveyed his wish to steer clear of any involvement in this impending showdown.

As reported by DD Geopolitics on Twitter, the former UFC lightweight champion opted not to accept Elon Musk’s training invitation. The news outlet revealed that this insight came from Nurmagomedov’s colleagues from Dagestan.

“He refused because he trains only his guys, whom he knows personally. It could also have a negative impact on the image of the wrestler, since he and Musk have different views on life, alcohol and drugs.”

Will Nurmagomedov return to MMA?

Insight into the potential future path of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov was recently shared by his former MMA coach, Javier Mendez.

Although he’s stepped back from active competition, Nurmagomedov’s contributions as a coach and mentor remain pivotal, sustaining his significant presence within the realm of mixed martial arts.

“He was going to be here [at AKA] a lot longer when Umar was gonna fight. He was actually not gonna walk the corner like people keep asking. But he was going to be with us to be there, supportive and help coach… Because that’s one thing he said he wouldn’t ever stop is coaching the guys. He never said that… he never said he stopped coaching. So when he has time, he’ll coach,” Mendez said in a podcast.
