Khabib Nurmagomedov is hailed as a legendary MMA fighter, standing among the all-time greats. In a sport where athletes often endure significant damage, he appeared virtually untouchable, showcasing unparalleled skills and dominance inside the Octagon.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, boasting an impressive 29-0 record and a lightweight championship, retired in 2020 after defeating Justin Gaethje. Despite his remarkable achievements, his early retirement has sparked debates regarding his legacy among fans and critics alike.

Nate Diaz, the former UFC superstar, seems unimpressed with the public’s view of Khabib Nurmagomedov as the greatest fighter of all time in the MMA world.

Nate Diaz hurls insults at Khabib Nurmagomedov

In a recent episode of the Full Send podcast, Nate Diaz shared his perspective on why he believes Khabib Nurmagomedov falls short of being considered the greatest fighter of all time.

In his candid remarks, Diaz took issue with Nurmagomedov’s early retirement from the UFC and his lack of fights against ranked opponents at the beginning of his career, voicing his criticism of the Dagestani fighter.

“F*ck Khabib. Khabib is the worst. Just look at him, he ran off, he’s a jock. It’s not my style of fighting. I don’t like it…You fought three ranked opponents, then fu*king beat two fu*king guys as a champion. If that’s how you fight. But the style in general, he’s not a real fighter. Him, ‘DC’ (Daniel Cormier), certain guys. I’m just not interested in that kind of fighting at all.”

Having ventured into multiple weight classes during his career, Diaz believes that pushing oneself to compete at higher levels contributes to an MMA athlete’s legacy. In contrast, he expressed disappointment with Nurmagomedov’s early retirement, which, in Diaz’s view, impacted his perception of the Dagestani fighter as a formidable competitor.

Nate Diaz makes pro-boxing debut

Having fulfilled his UFC contract last year, Diaz is gearing up to reenter the realm of combat sports by making his professional boxing debut. His opponent will be none other than social media sensation-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who currently holds a 6-1 pro-boxing record.

This weekend, on August 5, the highly anticipated fight between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul will unfold in Dallas, Texas. Opinions on Diaz’s prospects in the bout have been mixed, with some doubting the former UFC superstar’s chances against the social media sensation-turned-boxer.

Despite being a significant underdog, Nate Diaz may have an advantage in the scheduled 10-round fight due to his exceptional cardio. Many are curious to witness if Diaz can defy the odds and possibly hand Jake Paul his second consecutive loss. The clash between the two is sure to be an intriguing showdown.
