Adams said in an interview with CNN on Friday that the city will not be changing the COVID-19 vaccination rules that are currently in place.
Brooklyn Nets has been without Irving due to his unvaccinated status, and it's unclear when or if he'll play this season.
Protesters chanted "let Kyrie play" while holding up signs that read "Stand with Kyrie" ahead of Brooklyn's matchup with Charlotte Hornets.
"The contract, the money it's gonna be there. I don't plan on leaving this organization and the situation that we have," Harden said.
Kyrie Irving won't be permitted to practice with the team or play in road games until he is a "full participant".
There has been some positive news for the Nets, however, as their training facility was reclassified as a private office.
The practice facility will be considered a private office building, allowing Irving to return to work in Brooklyn on non-game days.
Joe Tsai is hopeful that Irving will ultimately make the decision that will allow him to be a full participant during the upcoming campaign.
The Brooklyn Nets do not anticipate local COVID-19 vaccination requirements "being any sort of hindrance".
Fully vaccinated players and team personnel will likely not be required to undergo regular coronavirus testing during the NBA 2021-22 season.
