The game between the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs will take place at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Canada on Saturday, October 22 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Winnipeg Jets will welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to the MTS for an All Canadian showdown in the NHL on Saturday. Winnipeg lost their last game 5-2 to the Vegas Golden Knights with Neal Pionk and Pierre-Luc Dubois scoring the goals. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele had three shots on goal but were not able to score.
Jets defenseman Nate Schmidt said after the game, “It’s kind of reverse, you score four goals last night in Colorado, unfortunately you spot a team. Back-to-backs are tough no matter where you’re coming from, honestly. We didn’t come out with our fire in the first period, you’re down 4-0.”
The Toronto Maple Leafs, unlike the Jets, won their last game 3-2 against the Dallas Stars. Nicholas Robertson scored two goals and Alexander Kerfoot scored one as Toronto edged a thriller and registered their third win of the season.
Two goal hero Robertson spoke after the game and said, “It was exciting. But now for me, it’s just to keep going and keep fighting and earning every day. “It’s been up and down. To get sent down given cap space was definitely tough to grasp, that was tough. “But now to get a night like this, it kind of makes up for it.”
