Corey Perry born on May 16, 1985, is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played the first 14 years of his career with the Anaheim Ducks. Perry is known for his goal-scoring ability and abrasive playing style, with an ability to get under his opponent’s skin, which earned him the nickname “the Worm”. Perry was drafted in the first round, 28th overall, by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and won the Stanley Cup with the club in 2007.

At age ten, he and his family moved from Haileybury, Ontario to Peterborough, Ontario. Growing up, his favorite NHL team was the Montreal Canadiens. Perry grew up playing hockey with the Peterborough Minor Petes AAA organization of the OMHA’s Eastern AAA League. In 2001, Perry led his Petes to a victory in the inaugural OHL Cup Bantam AAA championship held in Peterborough. Perry had a stellar year offensively, scoring 73 goals in 67 games.
Perry, selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the first round (No. 28) of the 2003 NHL Draft, also became one of the best goal-scorers of his generation. At age 20, Perry began his NHL career in 2005-06 with at least one point in each of his first four games, including his first goal on Oct. 10, 2005. He was later demoted to the minors for six weeks but returned to the NHL to stay in January 2006. On December 30, 2009, Perry was selected to play for Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. On April 16, 2010, Perry was among the first group of 15 players to be named to Canada for participation at the 2010 IIHF World Championships.
Corey Perry married long-time girlfriend Blakeny Robertson on July 18, 2015, and they have a son. He began dating girlfriend Blakeny Robertson early in life. The couple had their first son, Griffin, in August of 2017. They both are into charities as well. One of the numerous charities that the couple attended is the Lady Duck Soiree organized by Corey’s former team, Anaheim Ducks. Blakeny is a very private person whose life details have mostly been kept away from social media.
