The game between the Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on Monday, November 7 at 8:00 PM ET.
The Washington Capitals will welcome the Edmonton Oilers to the Capital One Arena for an NHL game on Monday. Washington lost their last game 3-2 to the Arizona Coyotes. Goals from Anthony Mantha and Alexander Ovechkin were not enough as the Capitals lost the game by a single goal.
After the game, Ovechkin spoke to the press and said, “No excuses, obviously. It starts from us leaders, and we can’t blame injuries on it. Every player who plays in the NHL has some level to play, and obviously, we miss those guys. But right now, the situation is we have to pull on the rope with all our hands and don’t panic and don’t think it’s over. We just have to bounce back and play together as a team and as a group.”
The Edmonton Oilers on the other hand were soundly beaten by the Dallas Stars 6-2 in their last game. Leon Draisaitl and Darnell Nurse scored the goals for Edmonton as they had a complete off night and will look to bounce back in this game.
Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft said after the game, “We got ‘out-everything-ed’ tonight. We, as a group, did. To me, in the 12 games we have played this year, we laid an egg tonight. That was the first time I have seen that this year where we didn’t have it in all facets of the game and to a man we weren’t good enough.”
