The game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers will take place at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 PM ET.
Toronto Maple Leafs will take on the Philadelphia Flyers in another round of NHL action at Scotiabank Arena. With both clubs starting the season on very different paths, the Philadelphia Flyers take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs have a 4-4-2 record and have dropped their previous four games, while the Flyers have a 5-3-1 record. The next game should be exciting as a consequence of the Flyers’ desire to maintain their outstanding record in the Metropolitan Division and the Maple Leafs’ desire to rebound in the Atlantic Division. With their offense ramping up and averaging 3.00 goals per game, the Flyers are off to a solid start to the season.
The top two lines, Kevin Hayes, Joel Farabee, and Travis Konecny, have combined for seven goals and 17 assists, but the rest of the attack has also contributed. While defenseman Anthony DeAngelo and Ivan Provorov have added two goals and 10 assists from the blue line to help open up the attack, Scott Laughton, Wade Allison, and Morgan Frost have combined for seven goals and two assists. Although the scoring has improved, the Flyers’ defense has kept them in games by giving up just 2.63 goals per contest.
The top line has been led by DeAngelo and Provorov, who have a combined defensive point share of 1.4 and 50 blocked shots. However, the rest of the unit has also stepped up, with Justin Braun, Travis Sanheim, and the others forcing turnovers in the defensive zone and reducing shot attempts. As Felix Sandstrom, the Flyers’ backup goalkeeper, has stopped 54 of the 60 shots he has faced, it is hoped that he can step up in the second game of a back-to-back.
