The Toronto Maple Leafs will welcome the Arizona Coyotes to the Scotiabank Arena for an NHL game on Monday. Toronto won their last game 3-2 over the Ottawa Senators courtesy of goals from Justin Holl, David Kampf and William Nylander. Claude Giroux and Shane Pinto scored the two goals for Ottawa.
After the game, head coach Sheldon Keefe in his post match address to the team said, “Big response. Could have had a let down after they tied the game and instead of just sitting back and letting it go to OT, we get on the attack. So job really well done. That’s two big wins for us here in response to the first night. Let’s feel good about that. We’re in tomorrow, short practice, we’re back at it here on Monday.”
The Arizona Coyotes on the other hand lost their first two games with the latest one coming in a 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Josh Brown, Shayne Gostisbehere and Clayton Keller were on the scoresheet for Arizona as they were soundly beaten by the Bruins.
Arizona head coach Andre Tourigny said after the game, “We were right there. It’s tough to swallow because we believe so much and have worked so hard. I like in the first period our urgency, and we were engaged and we’re battling. We built our confidence throughout the game.”
