Sidney Crosby is regarded by many as one of the best ice hockey centre to have played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on 7 August,1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He played junior hockey for the Rimouski Oceanic. In his debut in the junior league, he scored one goal and added two assists. At the start of the season, he was named the QMJHL Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks and also went on to win the honour four more times as the season progressed. He became the first QMJHL player to win the RDS/JVC Trophy, the Michel Brière Memorial Trophy in a single season.
