The New Jersey Devils will travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers in an NHL preseason game on Thursday. New York lost their last preseason game 3-2 against the Boston Bruins. Adam Fox and Alexis Lafrenière scored the two goals as the Rangers could not get past the Bruins in a game which went to overtime. After the game, Adam Fox said, “I thought we played hard there. Obviously they played aggressive and came down to an OT goal. So, it was nice to get the rust off and get some game action.”
The New Jersey Devils on the other hand have started the preseason with two back to back wins with their latest one coming in a 4-1 win over the New York Islanders. Goals from Dougie Hamilton, Erik Haula, Jack Hughes and Yegor Sharangovich ensured that the Devils thumped the Islanders in what was a one sided game. Erik Haula spoke after the game and said, “It’s a chance for us to get to know each other, know where we are, know our game a little bit better. And I think we did a great job.”
