The Edmonton Oilers will welcome the Vancouver Canucks to Rogers Place for an NHL game on Wednesday. Edmonton finished their preseason with five wins and three losses and they won their last game 5-3 over the Seattle Kraken. Goals from Leon Draisaitl, Tyson Barrie, Evander Kane, Connor McDavid and Jesse Puljujärvi ensured the win for the Oilers.

Jay Woodcroft signed a three year deal in June to become Edmonton’s head coach and said that he feels great. “It feels very natural to me. This is what I feel most comfortable doing. I am in the spot I am supposed to be in,” said Woodcroft who will be opening the season as a head coach for the first time.

The Vancouver Canucks on the other hand won two and lost three games in preseason with their last game resulting in a 4-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes. Andrei Kuzmenko, Bo Horvat, Dakota Joshua and Elias Pettersson scored the goals for Vancouver as they won comfortably.
