The Calgary Flames will welcome the Vegas Golden Knights to the Scotiabank Saddledome for an NHL game on Tuesday. Calgary have started their season with two wins with their last one coming in a 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Goals from Michael Stone, Nazeem Kadri, Mikael Backlund and Andrew Mangiapane ensured that the Flames dispatched the Oilers.
After the game, Michael Stone said, “The first period was good, we came out with a lot of energy and did some good things. Kind of got back on our heels a little bit in the second, but we managed to turn it back around in the third and finished the game off well, which was good to see. We didn’t panic. We know what it takes to win and what little things need to be done to win in this league.”
The Vegas Golden Knights on the other hand won their last game 5-2 against the Seattle Kraken. Jonathan Marchessault was the star as he scored two goals while Shea Theodore, Keegan Kolesar and Reilly Smith scored one goal each as Vegas won the game with ease.
Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said after the game, “I think it’s good for the guys to get a taste of success early, everyone is chasing that early in the year and we don’t want to be behind. I thought we started well tonight, which is something we addressed. I didn’t think our starts in L.A. and at home against Chicago were great. They weren’t bad, but when you can put the other team on their heels, that always helps.”
