The Cardinals come into this game on the back of a 29-23 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in their last game and sit in third place on the NFC West table with a 1-1 record. Kyler Murray passed for 277 yards and had one touchdown pass and one interception as he completed 31 of his 49 passes. He also scored a touchdown as he rushed for 28 yards. Darrel Willams and Greg Dotch scored one touchdown each as they ran for 59 and 55 yards respectively.
Defensive end JJ Watt was full of praise for the quarterback Murray and thanked him for creating all the chances he did for him and his team mates. Speaking after the game, Watt said of Murray, “That’s what he can do that nobody else can. He gave us opportunities, and we made the most of it.”
On the other hand, defending champions Los Angeles Rams come into this game on the back of a 31-27 win over the Atlanta Falcons and as a result sit in second place on the NFC West table with a 1-1 record. Matthew Stafford passed for 272 yards and had three touchdown passes and two interceptions as he completed 27 of his 36 passes. Cooper Kupp scored two touchdowns while Darrell Henderson and Allen Robinson scored one touchdown each for the Rams.
Head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, Sean McVay, said after the game, “There’s a lot of different, very uncharacteristic things, but they happened. And we still found a way. We’re not going to run away from some of the things that we didn’t do well today. But we’re also going to allow ourselves to appreciate being able to come away with a win.”
