The Washington Wizards are heading into their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday with some fresh momentum, aiming to clinch their first three-game winning streak of the season.

In their recent 110-108 victory against the Miami Heat on Sunday, Kyle Kuzma led the charge with an impressive 32-point performance. It was a significant win for Washington as it marked only their second victory over a team with a winning record this season.

The Wizards finally broke their franchise record-tying 16-game losing streak last Friday with a solid 112-100 win at home against the Charlotte Hornets. Then, they faced off against Miami, who had an 11-point lead at one point. But Washington didn’t give up, staging a comeback to end their eight-game losing streak on the road.

In that win, point guard Tyus Jones dished out an impressive 16 assists, and he’s been averaging 10.9 assists over his last 12 games. As for Kuzma, he’s been putting up solid numbers, averaging 22.5 points and 6.6 rebounds in his seventh season. He’s optimistic that the Wizards can keep the momentum going from their last two games.

Key matchups

Washington is aiming to pull off a clean sweep against Memphis after they clinched a 113-106 victory at home back on Oct. 28.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies, who’ve been struggling with injuries all season, rolled out their 38th starting lineup in their recent 124-93 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road.

Memphis has been hit hard with injuries, with key players like Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, and Brandon Clarke sidelined. On top of that, they were also missing Jordan Goodwin, John Konchar, and Vince Williams Jr. due to injuries on Sunday. Tough luck for the Grizzlies with so many key players out.

Rookie GG Jackson II had a standout game against Oklahoma City, dropping a season-high 30 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr. chipped in with 16 points. Making his Grizzlies debut, forward DeJon Jarreau had quite the entrance, putting up seven points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out five assists in just 28 minutes coming off the bench. Quite the debut!
