At the 2022 NBA All-Star game in Cleveland, the Golden State Warriors will have two starters representing the franchise. Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins were selected starters for the NBA All-Star game in 2022, the league announced on Thursday. Curry’s eighth All-Star appearance will take place in 2022.

Curry was generally regarded as a Most Valuable Player contender during the 2021-22 NBA season, averaging 25.8 points on 41.6 percent shooting, 6.2 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Steph has 14 games with 30 or more points, including a 50-point performance against the Atlanta Hawks in November, despite a recent dip. Curry passed NBA Hall of Famer Ray Allen to become the NBA’s all-time leader in made 3-pointers in December.

Curry has contributed to the Warriors’ 35-13 record, which ranks second in the Western Conference.

In Cleveland, Wiggins will make his first All-Star game debut as a starter, joining Curry.

The former No. 1 overall selection is averaging 18.1 points on 48.1 percent shooting from the field, 4.2 rebounds, and two assists per game in his third season with the Warriors.

Along with delivering consistent offense, Wiggins has been a significant component of Golden State’s defensive rating, which stands first in the league (102.4).

Fan votes (50%) are combined with player votes (25%) and media votes (25%) to pick the All-Star starters (25 percent ). The remainder of the All-Star team will be revealed on February 3rd, with the draught taking place on February 10th. The game will take place on Sunday, February 20.

When he played with the Timberwolves, Wiggins never deserved that title, but in his second full season with Golden State, Wiggins got it when the NBA revealed its starters for the All-Star game on Thursday.

Wiggins’ promotion to the starting lineup was aided by fan voting. Wiggins finished third in fan vote among frontcourt players, beating out teammate Draymond Green and Clippers big Paul George for the third frontcourt place, which also included LeBron James of the Lakers and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. For a starting All-Star slot, fan voting accounts for half of the total vote. Each player and media vote accounts for 25% of the total. Wiggins was voted fifth by players and sixth by the media.
