The Portland Trail Blazers will welcome the Utah Jazz to the Moda Center for an NBA preseason game on Tuesday. The Trail Blazers lost their last preseason game 102-97 to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. Damian Lillard played 23 minutes and scored 16 points and had 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Jusuf Nurkic played 21 minutes and dropped 13 points with 9 rebounds.
Jerami Grant scored 14 points for his new team and Damian Lillard showered praises on him after the game. On playing with Grant, Lillard said, “He brings something to the table that we just haven’t had. You see some of those blocks he had coming from the weakside, those are just high-level, athlete plays. It’s a gift to be able to do that.”
The Utah Jazz on the other hand come into this game after getting beat 114-82 in their last game against the Toronto Raptors. Lauri Markkanen had a great individual game as he scored 20 points and had five assists while Colin Sexton and Walker Kessler dropped 11 points each. Mike Conley played 21 minutes and scored seven points and dished out three assists.
After the game, Jazz head coach Will Hardy said, “We didn’t make many shots but executed well, guarded well in the half court. Second half, we got a little bit disorganized and our communication wasn’t very good. This is a new group that’s learning each other. There’s adversity in any NBA game, and tonight we didn’t deal with that adversity in the beginning of the second half very well.”
