Damion Lee came up clutch in the final moments as he scored a basket with 9 seconds left as the Phoenix Suns overcame the Dallas Mavericks 107-105 in the NBA on Wednesday. Lee scored a three pointer and then took a pass from Devin Booker and attacked the paint and finished a difficult layup which proved to be the dagger as the Suns recorded a win in a nail biting encounter. Lee finished the game with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
Devin Booker was the top scorer for the Suns as he dropped 28 points and dished out 9 assists with his last assist enabling his team to get the win. Deandre Ayton scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds while Cameron Johnson ended the game with 15 points.
The Mavs led the Suns by 22 points in the second quarter but Devin Booker and his men cut short that advantage in the third quarter when Cameron Payne scored to make it 77-76. The win for the Suns was an impressive one given that this same Dallas team knocked them out in the Western Conference semifinals last season.
Chris Paul had a bad game as he was not up to his usual best. He played 30 minutes and only scored six points but had nine assists.CP3 has now had bad games against the same team in his last eight games if you take last season’s playoffs into account.
