The Orlando Magic won a nail biter as they defeated defending champions, Golden State Warriors 130-129 in an NBA game on Thursday night. Jalen Suggs top scored for Orlando with 26 points and 9 assists and also scored a crucial three pointer towards the end of the game.

Rookie Paolo Banchero dropped 22 points and had 8 rebounds in 36 minutes of action while Franz Wagner scored 19 points of his own as the Magic condemned the Warriors to another loss, their fourth in a row since they beat Miami on October 27th.

Paolo Banchero gave his thoughts after the game and said, “I am really proud. That was a hard fought game. Everyone contributed from the starters to the bench. It was a full team effort and proud of the way we played.”

He also spoke about what his coach told the team. “Coach told us we have been doing everything we are supposed to. It’s just that when we get down in the final minutes of the game, we kinda just get away from the simple things that kept us ahead the whole time. And that was the story of these first couple of games.

“This game, we stick to the simple. We knew we were going to battle with them. Being down at half, we knew we were going to get back in at some point. We wanted to know that when we got back in it, we wanted to be able to keep it simple and do all the right things and be able to stick together as a team and that’s what we did,” said Banchero.

Warriors lose four in a row

The Warriors slumped to their fourth straight defeat despite playing their best starters. Stephen Curry top scored once again with 39 points and dished out 9 assists while Klay Thompson dropped 27. Kevon Looney scored 17 points and grabbed 7 boards.

What is important to note however is that the Warriors lost these four straight games away from home. They will travel to the Smoothie King Center next to take on the New Orleans Pelicans before heading home to the Chase Center.
