Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was out for All-Star Weekend hoping for one of two things, if not both. A three-point competitive title and Kobe Bryant MVP award. With his 2023 NBA All-Star free throw late in the fourth quarter of his game, Jayson Tatum scored his 53rd point, surpassing the record set by Anthony Davis in 2017. Not to mention, he was unanimously selected among his nine media representatives who voted for his MVP honors on the show.

The newly released Tatum 1 Signature from Jordan Brand was quite the promotion for his shoes. “It’s very special to me,” said Tatum, who grew up with idol Bryant, the late Los Angeles Lakers legend. I remember telling myself that day that I had to get one of these before work was over and today I put on my signature shoes and broke the record I love It’s just an amazing day to be able to take this award home from a man.” Tatum, who became the first player to score 50 points in all regular-season playoff games, said: “I think I scored about 49. And [Damian Lillard] said, ‘The record is 52.’ said – Star Weekend. Tatum entered halftime with his 17 points and burst in the third quarter to score his record 27 points, highlighted by several possessions against Boston Celtics teammate Jaylen Brown. it was done.

“It was like another day in the office for us, wasn’t it?” said Tatum, whose Celtics (42-17) lead the East. “I’ve been on the same team for six years. Me. We’ve played countless one-on-ones and scrimmages against each other. It was a normal day for us because we always tried our best. Millions of people were watching one of the biggest stages so we enjoyed it a little bit. I was there.”

If there was a downside on Sunday, it was the loss of both captains. Antetokounmpo checked after dunking early due to his wrist injury, and LeBron James sat out the second half after seemingly sustaining a hand injury when he slammed his hand against the rim. I did.

Tatum and James threw passes off the backboard and dunked, Ja Morant wowed the crowd with a dunk, and an alley-oop across the floor, Lillard hit a 3 from across halfcourt, and Tatum shot. Mitchell opened fire in the third quarter. As with most All-Star Games, the defense was also an option. There wasn’t much drama about which team would ultimately win, but the funniest part of the night was the one-on-one game that broke out between Boston Celtics teammates Tatum and Jaylen Brown. We are now in the third quarter. Brown provided some highlights, but Tatum had the last laugh with the win and MVP.
