The New Orleans Pelicans will take on the Detroit Pistons at Smoothie King Center for an NBA preseason game on Friday. The Pelicans come into this game on the back of a 129-125 win over the Chicago Bulls. Devonte’ Graham top scored for the Pelicans with 21 points while eighth overall draft pick Dyson Daniels scored 15 points.
The good news for the Pelicans will be the return of Zion Williamson. Williamson scored 13 points and played for 15 minutes. After the game, Zion said, “I couldn’t show them everything. But kind of getting a feel for it again, finding spots, picking and choosing when I want to attack. We’ve got a new team since the last time I played, so I’m still trying to learn some of the guys. We were able to click. If we can do that for the rest of these preseason games, I think we’ll be in good shape.”
On the other hand, the Detroit Pistons lost their last game 117-96 to the New York Knicks and will look to bounce back in this game. Jaden Ivey, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft scored 16 points and had four rebounds while Isaiah Livers dropped 13 off the bench. Cade Cunningham scored seven points of his own in the 23 minutes was afforded. New signing Bojan Bogdanovic scored 11 points and had 4 rebounds and will look to be a potent weapon for the Pistons once the season begins.
