The Golden State Warriors are all set to visit the Little Caesars Arena to take on the Detroit Pistons. The game will take place at 7:10 p.m. ET, with the Golden State Warriors getting into the match as the favorites on the road.

The Warriors clinched their second consecutive narrow victory as Klay Thompson sank the winning shot with under a second remaining against Sacramento on Wednesday. They currently rank sixth in offensive rating, having won five of their first six games, demonstrating a level of play reminiscent of their championship form absent last season. Ahead of their upcoming game in Detroit, they suffered a defeat against Cleveland.

Key matchups

Similar to the Warriors, the Pistons will also be playing on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns and will then face the Golden State Warriors on the second leg of a back-to-back. In their previous matchup, the Pistons suffered a 125-116 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cade Cunningham led Detroit with 22 points and 11 assists, while Marcus Sasser contributed 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and Ausar Thompson added 16 points. Although they fell behind by 25 points in the second quarter, the Pistons managed to narrow the gap, with Sasser’s 3-pointer bringing them within single digits at 111-103 with 4:03 remaining.

New Orleans encountered Detroit without their starting power forward Zion Williamson and starting wing Brandon Ingram, both of whom are among their top scorers.

Experienced players such as Bojan Bogdanovic (calf), Monte Morris (quad), and Isaiah Livers (ankle) have yet to make appearances this season. Alec Burks (forearm), an important bench player, was absent in the recent game against New Orleans. Detroit has recorded more turnovers than any other team this season, highlighting the challenges of fielding one of the youngest squads in the league.
