The key contributors for the Charlotte Hornets are consistently evolving and rotating. With the possibility of one or two players stepping up, the Hornets are looking forward to a competitive game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are visiting Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday.

Entering the game with momentum, the Timberwolves are riding a three-game winning streak and have emerged victorious in six of their last seven matchups. Notably, a diverse range of players has stepped up, assuming leadership roles in different games.

Anthony Edwards claimed the title of Minnesota’s leading scorer for five straight games until Karl-Anthony Towns scored 32 points in Thursday night’s 101-90 victory over the Utah Jazz. Edwards, sidelined by a hip injury, missed that game, but the prognosis indicates that his absence won’t be prolonged.

Key matchups

On Thursday night, the Hornets secured a 129-128 win on the road against the Brooklyn Nets, thanks to Terry Rozier’s standout performance. Rozier, who had been sidelined with a groin injury until recently, delivered a season-high 37 points in the game.

In the absence of the injured LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, both sidelined with ankle injuries, the Hornets had to adapt. Fortunately, Rozier showcased his versatility by taking on some of the responsibilities that typically belong to Ball.

Rozier, sinking seven 3-pointers in the game against Brooklyn, has notched 22, 11, and an impressive 37 points in the three games following his three-week hiatus. In Miller’s absence, Bryce McGowens has stepped up and secured a spot in Charlotte’s starting lineup.

Charlotte is currently experiencing its most successful stretch of the season, securing three victories in its last five games. The recent triumph against the Nets required a season-high point total to clinch the win. Despite the positive outcome, the Hornets had to rely on a season-high 21 3-point baskets to achieve this feat.
