The Miami Heat, who are visiting, will try to even up the score in their Eastern Conference first-round showdown against the Boston Celtics in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

Jayson Tatum had a stellar performance, racking up 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead the Celtics to a 114-94 win in Game 1 on Sunday. Tatum was just one of six Boston players who hit double figures in scoring.

How Miami fares on Wednesday might come down to how they can defend against Boston’s 3-point shooting. In Game 1, Boston nailed 22 out of 49 attempts from downtown. Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and Sam Hauser each drained four 3-pointers. Hauser, who came off the bench, made his mark in just 12 minutes of play.

Injury report

For the Celtics, Kornet will not be playing the game. As for the Heat, Butler and Rozier will be sitting this one out.

Key matchups

The Celtics dominated the Heat in the third quarter, outscoring them 31-14, and went into the fourth quarter with a commanding 91-59 lead. Boston’s lead grew to 34 points before Miami, seeded eighth, managed to cut the deficit to as close as 14 points in the final minutes.

Bam Adebayo put up 24 points, and Delon Wright chipped in with 17 for Miami. Unfortunately, they were missing Jimmy Butler for the second game in a row due to a right knee injury he got during the play-in round. Terry Rozier was also sidelined with a neck injury.

Boston’s Jrue Holiday did a solid job defending Tyler Herro, who struggled, shooting only 4 of 13 from the field and finishing with 11 points in 34 minutes. Herro and Butler were the top scorers for the team during the regular season, each averaging 20.8 points per game.

Boston’s victory on Sunday means they’ve now beaten Miami four times this season. They’ve been pretty unstoppable at home, winning an impressive 38 out of 42 games during the regular season and playoffs combined.
