The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Crypto.com Arena for an NBA game on Thursday. The Lakers lost their first game 123-109 against defending champion, Golden State Warriors on the opening night.
LeBron James scored 31 points and had 14 rebounds and 8 assists and it is hard to believe that this is his 20th year in the league. Anthony Davis dropped 27 points while Russell Westbrook scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds. Despite not being good defensively, the Lakers will take encouragement from the fact that their big three performed well.
After the game, coach Darvin Ham spoke to the media and said, “Whether you make a shot or you miss a shot, you turn the ball over, whatever, you’ve got to have a short memory and get on to the next play immediately. That has to be something that’s in our fabric, not just against Golden State but against the entire league.”
For the Los Angeles Clippers, this will be their first game of the season and they come into this game having lost twice and winning once in the preseason. Their last match ended in a 126-115 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Clippers will be buoyed by the fact that they now finally have both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George fit at the same time after a long time. Both George and Kawhi are integral to this Clippers side and how they fare this season will depend on the duo’s fitness. If they can stay healthy, then the Clippers will have a major say in which team is the best in LA.
