Seeking their eighth consecutive victory, the Los Angeles Clippers aim to achieve their lengthiest winning streak in eight seasons as they take on the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis on Monday night. Securing their seventh consecutive victory, the Clippers recently dominated the New York Knicks with a convincing 144-122 win on Saturday night, wrapping up a flawless four-game homestand.

Los Angeles hasn’t clinched eight consecutive victories in a single season since their impressive 10-game winning spree spanning from December 25, 2015, to January 13, 2016. Although the Clippers have achieved seven consecutive wins on six occasions since then, they have consistently stumbled in the eighth matchup.

James Harden, secured in a blockbuster deal with the Philadelphia 76ers on October 31, is finding his rhythm with Los Angeles after a somewhat awkward initiation. In the last two games, he has notched double figures in both points and assists.

Key matchups

Leading the charge during the current impressive run is Kawhi Leonard, maintaining an average of 33.8 points over the last five games with an impressive 64.8 percent shooting accuracy. In the recent matchup against the Knicks, he showcased his prowess by going 12-for-16 from the field, ultimately tallying 36 points.

Having participated in 60 games or fewer in each of his last five seasons, Leonard has now played in all 25 games this season. Additionally, the Los Angeles team saw the return of Paul George, the second-highest scorer, in the matchup against the Knicks. George had missed the previous 121-113 victory against the Golden State Warriors due to a sore hip.

George made a substantial impact with 25 points and seven assists against New York, notably generating 19 points during the second half. Meanwhile, Indiana is in the process of regrouping after facing challenging circumstances and suffering their third consecutive loss on Saturday night.

Engaging in their second consecutive away game on consecutive nights and marking their fourth road game of the week, the Pacers reached Minneapolis just a couple of hours before their matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Acknowledging the challenging circumstances, they confessed to running out of energy in the second half, leading to a 127-109 loss on Saturday.

The absence of their top scorer, Tyrese Haliburton, due to a left knee bruise added to Indiana’s challenges. With no practice session on Sunday, it remains uncertain whether Haliburton will be ready to play against the Clippers.
