Tyrese Haliburton has put up impressive offensive stats when facing the Detroit Pistons this season. Maybe that’ll help him break out of his shooting rut, which has been getting more and more frustrating for him.

The Indiana Pacers (38-31) kick off a five-game road stretch by facing the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, coming off a 108-103 defeat at home against Cleveland on Monday. Haliburton struggled in the last game, only managing to score 14 points on 4-for-14 shooting, with just one successful 3-pointer out of nine attempts.

In his past four games, Haliburton hasn’t scored more than 18 points. Since the All-Star break, he’s been averaging 15.8 points per game on 41.7 percent shooting, and his 3-point shooting percentage has been even lower, at just 21.3 percent in those games.

Haliburton has been on fire against Detroit, averaging 21.7 points and dishing out 13.0 assists per game. He’s shooting an impressive 45.3 percent overall and a solid 41.4 percent from beyond the arc against them.

The Pistons (12-56) are on a three-game losing streak. In their latest game against the Eastern Conference leaders, Boston, they were without several key players and suffered a 119-94 loss.

Top scorer Cade Cunningham was sidelined due to managing a left knee injury. Additionally, two of their key small forwards, Simone Fontecchio (dealing with a left great toe contusion) and Ausar Thompson (out due to illness), were also absent.

Reserve guard Quentin Grimes couldn’t play due to a sore knee, and power forward Isaiah Stewart had to leave the game after the first half due to right hamstring soreness. At halftime, the Celtics held a 13-point lead, which they managed to double during the third quarter.
