Luka Doncic aims to keep his streak of triple-doubles going strong, especially with Stephen Curry probably not around to steal the show, as the Dallas Mavericks take on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.

Doncic notched his seventh consecutive triple-double with an impressive stat line of 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists in a dominating 127-92 victory against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.

He missed out on extending his NBA-record streak of 30-point triple-doubles by just three points. Doncic had broken the tie with Russell Westbrook by recording his sixth consecutive 30-point triple-double in a 142-124 victory against the Detroit Pistons on the road last Saturday.

So far this season, Doncic has accumulated 17 triple-doubles, putting him behind only Domantas Sabonis (22) and Nikola Jokic (21) in the league rankings.

Key matchups

The Mavericks have turned things around, winning three games in a row after dropping five out of six. Following their matchup against the Golden State Warriors, they’ll face off against two tough teams in the West: the Thunder and the Denver Nuggets.

Meanwhile, the Warriors managed to avoid a three-game losing streak, even without Curry for the first time in five attempts this season. They secured a 112-102 road victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, who had defeated them 126-113 at Golden State just two days prior.

Curry, who hurt his right ankle in a home game against the Bulls last Thursday, was set for a check-up on Tuesday. He’s anticipated to start practicing back home in the Bay Area and is planned to join the team for Friday’s practice in Los Angeles. The Warriors are up against the Lakers on Saturday.

Chris Paul, who scored 24 points in their previous defeat to Dallas, took the spotlight in Monday’s win over San Antonio with 19 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.
